Tremere

People (well, leeches) don’t really like the Tremere. They are, after all, comparative upstarts. They clawed their way by magic and treachery and deceit—effectively out-vampiring vampires in order to gain immortality. So people don’t trust us. Fair enough. After all, we did curse the Assamites for quite some time. They respect us, however—and they fear us, which is at least as effective. They leave us our Chantries, and shudder as they walk by. Let them.

We take what we want, usually. By diplomacy or by force, by trickery or deceit. We do not expect help from others, even though they owe it to us. We know more than they do—whatever the subject, unless it is secrets and the Nosferatu are the they in question.

The Chantry on the Outer Western side of Our Fair City is our stronghold. From there, we can see all the ley lines of the city (or, at least our thralls who are sensitive to them have mapped them for us). We can pluck their strings and riches come our way—ours is the most commercially important gateway to the suburbs, due to prime freeway placement. Ours also is where a great deal of the smuggling goes on—and we make sure we get our cut of the proceeds.
